May 26th 2017!⃝They came up with the idea when they were in New Orleans, which was the last city they were performing in while on tour. on the last day they were in a taxi cab and the band was eating chicken, the cab driver said "better eat that chicken slow, it's full of them little bones" and lead singer Gord Downie compared what the driver said to the book he had been reading about a cat named "Little Bones"... Them singing about how "it gets so sticky down here, better butter your cue finger up" was them explaining what it was like in New Orleans at the time, and the part about "Nothing is dead down here, it's just a little tired" was a reference to the hot summers of New Orleans.
