Oct 8th!⃝The music video shows children without mouths shuffling, heads bowed, in single file, into a meat grinder.
The imagery is pretty obvious. The Wall is a well-done but deeply disturbing album about the narrator's father leaving for the War, "leaving just a memory", from Part I of the same (notice the extreme terror associated with the sound of airplanes), and the narrator's overbearing mother (see the song "Mother"), Britain's terribly broken school system (The song between Part I and Part II, "The Happiest Days of Our Lives":
"You! Yes, you! Stand still, laddie!"
When we grew up and went to school, there were certain teachers who would hurt the children any way they could
By pouring their derision upon anything we did; exposing every weakness however carefully hidden by the kid.
But in the town, it was well, when they got home at night, their fat and psychopathic wives would thrash them within inches of their lives) and a whole host of other issues. The narrator can't deal with the veritable deluge of abuses, and so attempts to protect himself from it all by building The Wall.
