Jun 23rd 2008!⃝I have listened to this song a lot and I think it is much more complicated then it seems. I believe it is about a man who is very sick, either mentally or physically or both. he is very close with a certain girl whom he falls in love with before he gets sick. she cares for him while he is sick and he imagines it is more, but when he wakes up he realizes it is only in his head. "I walked the line" is referring to the line between fantasy and reality. yes she did hold him all night, but only to comfort him and nothing more. he resigns himself to only being with her only in his mind and never "in real life"
