Nov 3rd 2015!⃝My interpretation of this song is the following: The girl the song centres around isn't afraid of many things and has a rebellious edge to her. For example, she isn't scared of scary movies, afraid of media attention, afraid of running wild and wears the clothes she likes ("Tight dress with the top cut low"). Throughout the song, the boys are trying to figure out why she's so scared of falling in love, with the lyric, "How come she's so afraid of fa-fa-fallin' in love?" The song suggests possible reasons why throughout: "Maybe she's just trying to test, wanna see how hard I'm gonna work", and "Or maybe all her friends have told her don't get closer, he'll just break your heart". The song also hints that she prefers a physical relationship (She likes the way we kiss in the dark) and that she wants to keep her reputation ("But she don't want anyone to know, that I'm the only one who gets to take her home". Primarily, the girl doesn't believe in love and is probably not interested in such a relationship, not trusting his feelings deep down while acting tough on the outside. "Cause every time I tell her how I feel. She says it's not real." The boy believes in love and that he is in love with her, and while trying to figure out why she's so afraid is also pleading with her - "What about all the things we say, Talking on the phone so late, I can't let her get away from me." There you go! That's just my interpretation of the lyrics. :)
