Oct 29th 2019!⃝My interpretation of this song has to do with both what I have read about it and my own ideas about the lyrics.
Nick Cave wrote this song for his exwife, Viviane Carneiro, when they were splitting up. He is writing about the Lord (although he doesn´t want God to intervene...), asking Him and the angels to look after her should something happen.
This is a beautiful, melancholic love song and it goes straight to me heart.
