Based on these lines..
"All the dishes rattle in the cupboards when the elephants arrive"
(This is referencing the drama that comes along with having a relationship with someone whom has a lot of baggage)
"The ornaments look pretty but they're pulling down the branches of the tree"
(She's a good looking girl but the weight of her baggage ruins it)
"I don't want to sit across the table from you wishing I could run"
(basically speaks for itself)
"I don't want to fake it,
I just want to make it"
(He wants a relationship that is honest and real.)
