Seeing that this song was written by Freddie, a gay man, it is not likely that this song is about a female. In the lyrics he says "What're you doing tonight? Hey boy!", which seems to be referring to someone aside from Freddie, himself. A male someone. It is a fantastic song and Freddie enjoyed writing it.
