Mar 5th 2017!⃝It's kind of creepy, but I think it's a dark plea from a serial killer to keep his victim with him. He tries talking to her all night, but of course he finds the poignant truth of the serial killer: he cannot really keep his victim, only the lifeless shell.
He longs for the morning light to "reanimate" the victim, but will only be disappointed.
Or he was singing about banging someone's wife, because Clapton was a total sleazebag who couldn't keep his hands off his mates' wives.
