Jul 3rd 2007!⃝This song is about bouncing back from the deepest pit of a drug addiction. I almost want to think the the line "when I lost my grip and I hit the floor" refers to the Aerosmith concert that Steven Tyler literally collapsed on stage.
The entire chorus is his realization that his choices were what got him in the mess and that there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel. "Oh it's amazing, when the moment arrives you finally see the light." He also comments on every other individual with their own addictions and how he has been there and survived and prays that they too can change their ways with "And I'm sayin a prayer for the desperate hearts tonight."
The the most interesting line in the song to me is "life's a journey not a destination, and you just can't tell just what tomorrow brings." -- So true
To recap: Heavy drug addiction-->coming back from rock bottom-->inspiring hope in those who think they have already reached the point of no return
